Original interior, badges, trim, wheel geometry and textures retained; authored brown wheel tint replaced with separate neutral charcoal rubber and satin alloy materials. - No affiliation or endorsement by Kia or the asset author is implied. ## Integration contract `kia-k5-ready.glb`: 4,106,896 bytes, 294,721 triangles, 14 draw calls. `kia-k5-mobile.glb`: 3,160,764 bytes, 146,623 triangles, 14 draw calls. Both assets face -X, up +Y, ground Y approximately 0, length 4.905 m. Set configurable paint on `Body_Color`; set cabin tint on `finesse-front`, `finesse-rear`, `finesse-back`, and `finesse-windshield`. Each pane has dedicated geometry and every zone remains unsimplified on mobile. The opaque body paint material is intentionally separate from wheel and engine-part material `secondary_3`. Use Three.js `Box3.setFromObject(scene, true)` when calculating world bounds of compressed assets. Geometry has been decoded through the actual Three.js GLTFLoader/MeshoptDecoder in both detail levels; dimensions, ground, all four window zones and triangle budgets were checked in `three-validation.json`. Source preserves attribution in glTF asset metadata. Keep this credit available from the simulator. See `prepare.py` and `optimize.mjs` for reproducible preparation. Optimization imports the shared isolated `corvette-c8/tools/node_modules` toolchain, never browser code. See docs/model-sources/kia-k5 for adaptation and source details. Ford Explorer — Glory Hunter https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/ford-explorer-a01d034cf599457e952be56e48303fd3 See docs/model-sources/ford-explorer for adaptation and source details. ford-f150 # Ford F-150 asset “Ford F-150” by **Mona x Supercars (@Car2022)**, also credited in the original GLB as **GT Cars**, is published under **Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)**. - Source: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/ford-f-150-c205cde66b1d4f14b1820b89de7b8d23 - Creator: https://sketchfab.com/Car2022 - License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ - Original downloaded asset: `original.glb` (16,480,332 bytes). - The original GLB includes the source URL, author profile, license and title in `asset.extras`. Changes: separated true cabin glass by disconnected geometry, unified exterior paint materials, removed SketchUp line overlays, normalized coordinates/scale, merged compatible surfaces and applied Meshopt compression. The mobile version simplifies non-glass geometry while retaining body-panel borders. Original lamp, trim, wheel, interior and texture materials are preserved. No affiliation with Ford is implied. ## Ready assets | File | Bytes | Triangles | Draw calls | | --- | ---: | ---: | ---: | | `ford-f150-ready.glb` | 3,404,924 | 372,852 | 52 | | `ford-f150-mobile.glb` | 2,747,912 | 271,895 | 52 | The mobile version reduces triangles by approximately 27%. The original dense chrome/wheel topology limits further conservative simplification; it is intentionally retained rather than forcing a lower count with uncontrolled artifacts. It still needs actual-device performance assessment. Both use front **−X**, up **+Y**, ground approximately **Y = 0**, length **5.900 m**, height **1.832 m**, width including mirrors **2.301 m**. These are normalized source-model proportions, not certified manufacturer measurements. The source represents an older F-150 crew cab; an exact model year has not been asserted. ## Runtime mapping | Use | Material | | --- | --- | | Body paint | `Body_Color` | | Front side windows | `finesse-front` | | Rear side windows | `finesse-rear` | | Rear cab glass | `finesse-back` | | Windshield | `finesse-windshield` | Source `rear_window_glass` misleadingly included the windshield, both front side windows, and a small interior display pane. Geometry was split by connected components; the interior display remains original. Source `Translucent_Glass_Blue` included both rear side windows and the rear cab window. None of the cabin tint materials includes lamp covers. Verified exterior paint materials `ford_blue`, `beige_ford`, and `Ford_Body_Color` are unified as `Body_Color`. Black trim, rubber, chrome, lamps, badges and interiors remain separately shaded. `materials-side.png` is an orthographic material-identification plot used during preparation. All glass triangle counts and decoded positions match exactly between detail levels. Texture image bytes are identical. Both assets re-read successfully with MeshoptDecoder, have finite positions, valid indices, matching vertex-attribute counts, and all five required runtime materials. Independent browser rendering and actual-device checks remain for integration. Reproduction: `prepare_model.py`, then `optimize.mjs` (uses isolated glTF Transform tools in sibling `corvette-c8/tools`), then `verify-mobile.mjs`. Reports: `asset-report.json`, `optimized-report.json`, `mobile-validation.json`. ## Final material QA correction Final QA: Color_007 tire rubber set to near-black, metalness 0, roughness 0.96; Color_008 dark trim roughness raised to 0.78. Original separate rims and chrome retained. Regenerated high/mobile variants passed all four glass geometry comparisons again; no glass position changes. Current files: - ford-f150-ready.glb: 3,404,880 bytes; 372,852 triangles; 52 draws. - ford-f150-mobile.glb: 2,747,868 bytes; 271,895 triangles; 52 draws. See docs/model-sources/ford-f150 for adaptation and source details. corvette-c8 # Chevrolet Corvette C8 asset “Animated Chevrolet C8 Model” by **TechFusion** is published under **Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)**. - Original listing: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/animated-chevrolet-c8-model-91d39ff24d6c4e7b83674411f9c5bb67 - Creator: https://sketchfab.com/techfusion - License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ - Published GLB mirror: https://github.com/mhrealm/Astra-site/blob/master/src/blog/animation/car-basic/models/chevrolet-corvette-c8.glb - Mirror attribution record: https://github.com/mhrealm/Astra-site/blob/master/src/blog/animation/car-basic/models/SOURCE.md - Retrieved: 2026-10-09 Changes for Finesse Customs: applied animation end poses to close the doors and covers, removed the display plane, separated front side windows, windshield and rear cabin glass into named materials, kept engine-view and lamp-cover glass separate, normalized scale and orientation, combined compatible draws, pruned unused data, and applied Meshopt compression. Original colors/textures remain available; the simulator replaces the body and cabin-glass materials dynamically. No affiliation with or endorsement by Chevrolet is implied. The original listing and mirror both explicitly declare CC BY 4.0. This is recorded licensing evidence from those publishers, not an independent verification of every contributor's chain of title. ## Prepared files - `corvette-c8-prepared.glb`: complete prepared uncompressed source; 11,735,116 bytes. - `corvette-c8-meshopt.glb`: optimized runtime asset; 4,418,864 bytes; 263,674 triangles; 60 material draws. - Runtime extensions include `EXT_meshopt_compression` and `KHR_mesh_quantization`; register Three.js `MeshoptDecoder` with `GLTFLoader`. - `prepare_model.py`: deterministic pose/window preparation from the original GLB. - `tools/optimize.mjs`: compression and structural validation. ## Runtime material mapping | Purpose | Exact material name | | --- | --- | | Body paint | `Body_Color` | | Front side windows | `finesse-front` | | Rear cabin window | `finesse-back` | | Front windshield | `finesse-windshield` | | Engine-view glass (keep original) | `Dark_Engine_View_Glass` | | Lamp-cover glass (keep original) | `Other_Glasses_than_Windshield` | This two-seat coupe has no rear passenger windows; the `rear` zone is unavailable. `Painted_Black` also appears on wheels/trim and should not be blanket recolored. Coordinates use front **−X**, up **+Y**, ground **Y = 0**. Dimensions including mirrors are approximately **4.630 × 1.187 × 2.143 m** (X × Y × Z). They reflect the supplied model's proportions, not a manufacturer-certified measurement. The source's static `Object_49` mesh mixed lamp covers with the narrow rear cabin pane. The pane was isolated by the connected component at local Y approximately −1.143 to −1.132, X ±0.541, Z −0.115 to 0.131 (62 triangles). It is distinct from the sloping engine-view cover. ## Mobile level of detail `corvette-c8-mobile.glb`: 3,306,108 bytes, 133,992 triangles (49% fewer than the detailed asset), 60 draws. It uses Meshopt simplification with locked topological borders; body panels retain 70% of triangles with error limited to 0.05% of primitive radius, other non-glass components target 42% with 0.2% error. All glass is excluded from simplification. Original texture image bytes remain unchanged. Cabin/lamp/engine glass retains exactly the same decoded vertex positions and triangle counts as the detailed asset. `tools/mobile.mjs` reproduces the mobile variant; `tools/verify-mobile.mjs` validates Meshopt re-read, index ranges, finite geometry, matching attribute counts, unchanged texture bytes, named window materials, glass triangle counts and glass positions. Details: `mobile-report.json` and `mobile-validation.json`. Visual review on actual mobile hardware remains recommended. See docs/model-sources/corvette-c8 for adaptation and source details. The download dialog explicitly states commercial use is allowed with attribution. The author describes modeling this vehicle in Maya as part of a Domestika course, texturing in Substance Painter and permits use in scenes. This is publisher licensing evidence, not a manufacturer endorsement or independent chain-of-title certification. Adaptations: map the four named cabin window meshes independently, keep lamp covers separate, select exterior body panels for configurable paint, add neutral hardtop/fender/trim/alloy finishes to the untextured source, separate tire rubber, normalize front −X/up +Y/ground, Meshopt compression and conservative mobile simplification. No existing vehicle has been replaced. The source has no embedded textures or detailed interior; original lightweight neutral seating/dash geometry is added at runtime and disclosed as illustrative. See reports for geometry budgets. Keep attribution accessible in the simulator and in redistributions.
